Tales from a Travelling Herbalist: Part 4

Dees Mum Renee Stoning Cherries

Meet my mum Rene. She has been with my sister, Chanchal, here at Innisfree for 6 weeks and has been getting into the rhythm of the farm. My mum is a testimony to herbal medicine she is celebrating her 90th year and still knows how to keep her daughters in line (see below). Mum recons that Yoga, Tai chi and crosswords has kept her young, not to mention all the herbs we give her!?Hawthorn tea for its action on her heart, garlic to keep her cholesterol down, and some good bowel tonics to help with the uptake of nutrition. As one ages it becomes more difficult to absorb nutrition from your food. This is a real reason to supplement . We have mum on Vitamin E, Co enzyme Q 10, a good bone health supplement and a good quality multi vitamin.
